Michelle Obama celebrated her 61st birthday on January 17 and marked 32 years of marriage to former President Obama earlier this year.
Former President Obama wished his wife, Michelle Obama, a happy 61st birthday on Friday, calling her “the love of my life.” The former first lady, who has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent weeks, will not attend President-elect Trump’s inauguration on Monday and was also absent from former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week.
In honor of her birthday, the former president posted a heartfelt tribute to Michelle on Instagram, writing, “You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!” Michelle later reposted the message on X, adding, “Love you, honey!” with a heart emoji and a face blowing a kiss.
Sources close to Michelle told People that she plans to skip Trump’s inauguration due to her strong disdain for the Republican president-elect. During the 2020 campaign, Michelle was vocal in her criticism of Trump, accusing him of spreading “racist lies” and undermining her husband’s political career because of his race.
Although frequently mentioned as a potential Democratic presidential candidate, those close to her emphasize that Michelle has no desire to return to the political spotlight now that her public service has ended.
While Michelle will not attend the inauguration, former President Obama is expected to be there on January 20, along with former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and their spouses.
Last year, unverified rumors suggested trouble in the Obamas’ marriage, claiming Barack Obama had an affair with actress Jennifer Aniston. Aniston firmly denied the gossip, telling Jimmy Kimmel, “That is absolutely untrue… I know Michelle more than him.”
