Bondi Fires Back at Schiff: "You Were Censured by Congress for Questions Like This"

Pam Bondi, President-elect Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Justice, became embroiled in a heated exchange with Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., during her Senate confirmation hearing. Schiff, a vocal critic of the president-elect, pressed Bondi on whether she would pursue investigations into former Special Counsel Jack Smith and former Rep. Liz Cheney, questioning if she would prosecute Trump’s political opponents.

Bondi dismissed the questions as “hypotheticals” and refused to provide direct answers. She countered, saying, “What we should be worried about is the crime rate in California—your robberies are 87% higher than the national average.”

When Schiff asked if she would inform Trump that he lost the 2020 election, Bondi accused him of “playing politics” and of leaking Rep. Devin Nunes’ memo.

Schiff responded by asking whether she would advise against blanket pardons from President-elect Trump, implying she wouldn’t be able to review all files on day one. Bondi, visibly upset, shot back, “You were censured by Congress for comments like this. So reckless.”
